Westside church of Christ

The Westside church of Christ, located in Akron, Ohio, is in search of a full-time minister who will teach and preach the word of God. (I Peter 4:11)

Core responsibilities include:

· Preaching & teaching – Delivering Biblically sound and engaging sermons and lessons during worship services and Bible classes. (Sunday morning Bible class/sermon, Wed. eve. Bible class. May add Sunday evening sermon in the future.)

· Providing spiritual guidance, counseling, and support to church members. This may involve visiting the sick and elderly and providing support during times of difficulty.

· Evangelism – Working with the elders to establish an evangelism model used to reach out to the community.

Specific examples of tasks:

· Preparing and delivering sermons that are applicable and inspiring. (2 Tim. 4:2,5)

· Teaching Bible classes that edify, motivate, and promote spiritual growth.

· At least one original bulletin article per month.

· Teaching must continue both privately and publicly after a lost soul is baptized. (Matthew 28:19-20)

· Visiting members of the congregation, especially the sick and shut ins.

· Representing the church in the community.

· Maintaining regular office hours.

Essential skills and qualifications:

· Graduate of a brotherhood preaching school or college/university, (bachelor’s degree required).

· Strong Biblical knowledge and understanding.

· Excellent preaching and teaching skills.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work effectively with church leaders and members.

· Commitment to personal spiritual growth and development.

· Ability to work independently and with a group.

About the congregation:

· There are currently 3 elders and 3 deacons.

· Average weekly Sunday morning attendance is 70.

· The congregation has been worshiping in its current location since 1966.

Position Summary

Small aging congregation in south St. Louis County, MO with two elders is seeking an evangelist to work with the congregation. Our average Sunday attendance: 40 – 50. We have a desire to grow spiritually and numerically. We provide monetary support to several missions and children’s homes, and maintain a Pantry/Blessing Box to serve the community.

We seek a biblically sound minister who would present sermons on Sunday morning and evening, and teach a Wednesday night Bible class. He should have good communication and interpersonal skills (with groups and individuals). Work would include visiting erring/delinquent members, the sick and shut-ins. Regular office hours 4 days a week are expected. Preaching experience preferred, but not required

Salary $50,000 to $60,000 – negotiable considering experience and family needs. Housing, including utilities, can be provided.

Located in Columbus, Georgia, Chattahoochee Valley Church of Christ is seeking a full-time minister to provide sermons on Sunday mornings, lessons on Wednesday night, and provide admin skills as possible to a demographically middle-aged church with a few young military families with small children. Probably 30% older than 65. They meet on Sunday mornings and have a class/devo on Wednesday evening. They have a children’s minister, a praise team, and screens at the front for multimedia presentations.
