We are looking for a preacher who is sound in the gospel, promotes family values and is willing to be active in our community. He will be expected to preach at Sunday morning and evening services, teach bible classes, and participate in other congregational activities.
Washington is a multicultural town of about 12,000. It has a small hometown feel, but with the I-69 corridor larger cities are easily accessible in 45-50 minutes. Our congregation has two elders and four deacons with an average Sunday morning attendance of 90. We are non-instrumental, but do use technology in our worship services. In addition to our local outreach programs, we support various missions, children’s homes, and camps.

a compassionate and vibrant church family with effective outreach programs, personal and

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities to the church:

• Support the mission/vision of the elders and the church, primarily focusing on youth and
their families.
• Be an effective communicator.
• Preach and/or teach when needed.
• Hospital visits, visitor follow-up, bulletin articles, etc., related families and their
children.

Responsibilities to Youth and their Families:

• Coordinate activities with families and their children and develop relationships.
• Recruit, organize, and speak at family and youth events, as well as train volunteers for
summer youth camps, retreats, trips, and area-wide youth gatherings and youth rallies.
• Plan, coordinate, and lead weekly teen fellowship activities, outings, and service/work
projects.
• Engage in the church’s social media presence, especially for youth and their families.
Communicate with them and the community on relevant platforms (i.e., Facebook,
Twitter-X, Instagram, church website, etc.).
• Build relationships with parents by keeping them updated with books, articles, or other
resources on various issues related to youth, their families, and current culture.
• Mentor youth by spending time with them in their homes, at church, and at school
events.
• Conduct youth and family gatherings and group events.
• Organize events for the younger children to mentor and prepare them for graduation to
the youth group.

Experience Guidelines:

• Degree in Bible or Ministry, or graduate of a brotherhood Bible Institute.
• Experience as a family life or youth minister, pulpit minister, or educator.

The Catoctin Church of Christ in Thurmont MD is seeking a full time family-oriented evangelist / Minister. We are a close family of 80 members with 5 Elders and Deacons. Thurmont is mostly a rural area, located in the Catoctin Mountains of northern Maryland, just south of Gettysburg PA. The congregation was formed in 1996 to fill a void in the northern MD area, and has been served by 1 minister who is retiring. We have a rather new facility that will hold over 200 people.
The primary responsibilities include preaching and teaching classes, evangelism to the community, ministering to the church family and community, and supporting other congregational activities.
Our preferred candidate will be either a recent grad or experienced family man, sound in scripture, that will become a part of our church family.
Compensation will be negotiated based on experience, and will include housing allowance and health care allowance.

The successful candidate will work with an active Eldership and congregation. Since the congregation was formed in 1986, we have been served by five preachers, all retired or moved to be near family.
