We are seeking a full-time pulpit minister who is knowledgeable of the scriptures to preach scripturally sound sermons and teach biblically sound Bible classes. Must be willing to teach the truth on controversial topics with love, compassion, and humbleness. This is an independent contractor position. Compensation: $50,000 per year. Full -Time Minister

Job Requirements:
Internship Start Date: May 25th

Internship End Date: August 25th (or whenever is required for the intern as agreed upon by the intern, Paul and the Eldership)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead and Organize our Tuesday Study and Fun event for Grades 4th Grade through Highschool
o This would begin the First Tuesday after camp (June 17th- August 12th)
o This should have a time of Bible Study, Lunch (either Sack or have kids bring money to go eat somewhere) and a game / activity.

• Preach Sunday Morning on these Dates:
o July 27th
o 1 Sunday in August (the last Sunday you plan to be here before you the internship ends)

• Preach Sunday Night:
o June 1st
o July 6th (This will depend on the timing for our food and fireworks congregational celebration).
o August 3rd

• Do a 3-part Lesson series for our Study Sunday Evenings on (Adults):
o June 22nd
o July 27th
o And Possibly August 24th (if you are still here)

• Work with Paul and Grant (Deacon) to have a youth Lock-In in August.
o Date possibilities include August 1st, 8th OR 15th.

• Participate in the monthly Elders Preacher Meetings on:
o May 27th (Possibly / possibly not)
o July 8th
o August 5th

• Directly aid Paul in VBS on July 20th-23rd (ALSO preparation for VBS)

• Teach a Bible Class on Sunday Morning for June through August

• Participate / co teach in one of our small groups each month

• Participate in the monthly RISE Above Group (a ministry for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one).

• Other various Roles like as they arise:
o Outreach and Evangelism opportunities
o Visitation both in homes and hospitals

The pulpit minister is a full-time position that works alongside the eldership to spiritually strengthen
the Church providing direction and training for its members for discipleship and service. He is a
devoted follower and disciple of Jesus, and serves the Lord with passion and a sincere love for
preaching the Gospel. The pulpit minister promotes growth among members and demonstrates how
to be in communion with God and one another, equipping members with knowledge of the Gospel for
sharing it with the lost. He will work and support the vision and mission of the Church of Christ at
Tenth Street.
General Responsibilities
  • Pulpit preaching – Prepare and deliver scriptural sermons that are applicable and inspiring.  Ensure that the worship services are Christ-centered and Holy Spirit led.
  • Teach Bible classes – Teaching classes that edify, motivate, and promote spiritual growth and maturity. Provide coaching and mentoring to other teachers of the Word.
  • Lead ministry team – Oversee and assist the other ministers on staff.
  • Evangelism and Community Outreach – Participates in developing/leading community outreach efforts. Helps maintain a social media presence for the church and contributes to content.
  • Actively attend Elders and Deacons meetings to facilitate effective communication and coordination of objectives and activities.
  • Responsible for the oversight of the church secretary
  • Care for the membership – Participate in coordination and visitation of sick and shut-ins, demonstrating warmth and sensitivity to the needs of the members.
  • Provide biblical based advice and spiritual guidance and counsel for members and those in need regarding their spiritual wellbeing ensuring confidentiality and discernment.
  • Attentive to the needs of pre-marriage, newly married and troubled marriages in the church.
  • Officiate and perform weddings and funeral services consistent with God’s Word.
  • Prepare bulletin articles
General Expectations and Competencies
  • Biblical Knowledge – Proficient Biblical knowledge and ability to apply Biblical principles to current culture; spends time in prayer and study of God’s Word daily.
  • Possesses a desire for continuous personal growth; regularly taking advantage of learning opportunities (e.g. personal study, reading, conferences, seeking counsel with the Elders and other Ministers).
  • Planning and Organizational Skills – Establishes courses of action to ensure that work is completed efficiently. Ability to prioritize, schedule, maintain focus and follow through to completion.
  • Maintains office hours as agreed upon by the Elders.
  • Focuses on his family’s welfare to ensure they are cared for spiritually, emotionally and physically.
Education and Experience
  • Four-year bachelor’s degree preferred with a preference in Biblical Studies (direct experience in lieu of formal education may be acceptable).
  • Proven experience in ministry and preaching with a minimum of 10 years’ experience required.

Full-time Minister

Our desire is to find a partner to help Plant and Water in our community located in southern New Jersey, approximately forty-five minutes from both Philadelphia and the coast. About:
The Oak Hill Church of Christ desires a dedicated and passionate individual 
(preferably married with children) to join our ministry team as an Associate 
Minister. Primary responsibilities will include working with families and 
being committed to an involvement with our youth, young adults, and college 
students.
There should be natural support of our visitation program, community outreach 
programs, and all other teaching opportunities. We seek a candidate with a 
deep devotion to the authority and teaching of God’s Word, strong spiritual 
leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to 
build relationships among membership and community. This position will 
significantly assist the Pulpit Minister in various duties routinely and as 
needed.
In addition to assisting our varied ministries, the associate will be 
self-motivated to exercise his skills for a purposeful approach to the 
Lord’s work while respectfully serving under the spiritual guidance of the 
eldership. Preferred credentials include a bachelor’s degree in the Bible or 
ministry and 5 to 10 years of experience in ministry. This is a full-time 
salary position (with a base range of $65k – $75) commensurate with education 
and experience plus benefits. The committee will discuss salary and benefits 
with the candidate during the interview process.
