YOUTH MINISTER SEARCH
The West Broward church of Christ is seeking a full-time Youth Minister to direct a Christ-centered ministry for our young people. We are a sound congregation rooted in New Testament Christianity with a youth group full of potential under the right leadership. We are looking for a man who can serve faithfully under the elders of the West Broward congregation and help our parents and volunteers grow our youth program spiritually by the will of God.
Congregational Summary:
The West Broward church of Christ in Plantation, Florida, is a congregation of 230 English-speaking members and 80 Spanish-speaking members. The church includes individuals from 14 U.S. states and 12 foreign countries and is overseen by 6 elders and served by 13 deacons. It is served by both an English minister from Florida and a Spanish minister from Nicaragua. With many members fluent in Spanish, and a strong Hispanic influence in the surrounding community, the West Broward church is involved in mission work both domestically and internationally throughout the Caribbean and Central/South America. The congregation has an active children’s ministry and family outreach program and participates in activities throughout the year like summer Bible camp and Lads to Leaders.
Responsibilities:
• Lead weekly Bible studies, youth devotionals, and/or fellowship activities
• Organize service projects, retreats, Bible camps, and outreach events
• Mentor young people individually and/or in groups
• Build relationships with youth, parents, and volunteers
• Lead Vacation Bible School and other congregational events
Qualifications:
• Faithful child of God attending a sound congregation of the church of Christ
• Degree in Bible, youth ministry, education, or related field (preferable, but not required)
• Experience working with youth in church settings (preferably 2+ years)
• Effective communication, organization, and relational skills
• High moral character providing a Christ-like example
• Willingness to collaborate closely with elders, parents, and volunteers
• Background and reference checks will be required from successful applicants
