The Oak Grove Church of Christ, a small but growing congregation located in the heart of the rural Northeast Louisiana Delta, is seeking a bi-vocational pulpit minister to serve our community of faithful believers.

We are seeking someone who:
• Is sound in doctrine and committed to the authority of Scripture
• Can preach and teach effectively in both Sunday worship and Bible classes

• Understands the needs and opportunities of a rural setting
Additional Notes:

Portal Way church of Christ, Ferndale, Washington | Seeking a full-time evangelist
For more than 45 years, the church at Portal Way has benefited from sound preaching and faithful stability from our current full-time evangelist. However, he recently informed us that he intends to enjoy a well-deserved retirement shortly. As such, we are beginning our search for a new full-time evangelist to serve under our established eldership.
About Portal Way: The Portal Way church of Christ is a congregation of the Lord’s people in Ferndale, Washington, situated in the northwest corner of the state. The congregation was established in 1967 and consists of approximately 100 members. The church is led by five elders and six deacons. The congregation meets each Lord’s Day, as directed in the scriptures, and holds bible studies on Sunday and Wednesday, with various other group studies throughout the week. The church is mission-focused and helps support several works throughout the world. The congregation is socially active throughout the year with various activities and outings.
The church at Portal Way is a biblically sound congregation and centers all of our teaching on scripture. We desire to spread this good news throughout the community. Our current building capacity is 175, and we have an aggressive plan to reach capacity by 2030. We live in an area that has continued to see population growth in Ferndale and throughout Whatcom County. We also live in one of the most beautiful parts of the country, which is consistently rated in various publications as one of the top places to live. We are looking for someone who is up for the challenge of helping the current membership grow spiritually, while also helping us fill our pews.
We are seeking an evangelist with the following qualifications and qualities. If you meet some of the qualifications but not all of them, that should not dissuade you from applying.
● 5 years of experience as a minister in the church of Christ
● A versatile preaching style that ties scripture to engaging storytelling
● Strong writing and communication skills
● A self-starter who can craft and achieve goals with limited supervision
● Someone who has fresh ideas to infiltrate and evangelize the community
● Someone who is technologically savvy and can effectively use various digital platforms to reach people where they are at
● A basic understanding of website maintenance is a huge plus
● A demonstrated ability to network in the secular community
Job duties
● Prepare and deliver sermons once a week on Sunday
● Prepare and deliver classes at various other times as directed by the elders
● Active community participation and involvement
● Prepare a short and concise video message each week
● Prepare a short and concise written message each week to be placed in the bulletin
● Prepare a yearly budget and plan to evangelize and execute various tactics
Job benefits
● Salary range: $72,000 to $85,000
● Candidate is responsible for their own healthcare
● Three weeks of paid vacation
● All major holidays are paid
● The church will match all IRA contributions up to 20% of the maximum contribution
