POSITION: EVANGELIST/ PULPIT MINISTER

The Woodbridge church of Christ, located in Woodbridge, VA is looking for a full-time minister who is Biblically sound and zealous for the cause of Christ. We desire someone skilled in teaching Bible classes and preaching sound sermons. Regular visitation and interaction with the congregation is also expected. Someone with leadership and organizational experience would be helpful to motivate us to grow spiritually and numerically. We are very interested in reaching the lost and encouraging the saints, and we desire the minister to put effort into these areas. We desire a minister who is willing to evangelize (for example: assist with website; conduct home Bible studies; and other ways to contact people) and reach out to the people in our area with the Gospel of Christ.

The Woodbridge congregation has been in existence for over 50 years, and the church here is optimistic about future growth. Presently, post COVID, the church has around 60 to 70 members.

The congregation currently has an eldership of three godly men, and two deacons. We have a membership that is a hard-working group for the Lord. We have an active Ladies’ Fellowship Group, and have historically conducted a Gospel Meeting annually, along with other opportunities for serving the Lord.

Each applicant will also be asked to complete a questionnaire that will help us determine some doctrinal positions to see if they might be a good fit for the congregation, and to see whether there is interest to speak further with the applicant.

DUTIES: (NOT A COMPREHENSIVE LIST)
• Preach Sunday morning & evening (2 Tim 4: 2-5, 1 Tim 4: 6-7 … 10-11)
• Teach at least one Bible class per week (1 Tim 4:11, 2 Tim 2: 24-26, Titus 2:1, 2 Tim 2:2)
• Work with the church leadership to develop and implement strategies to maximize outreach and spiritual growth of the church (Hag 2:9, Luke 19:10, Luke 14:23, Luke 8:11)
• Maintain regular office hours at the building, specific times and days negotiable.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & DUTIES
• At least three years of fulltime preaching experience. New graduates will be considered given background and other applications.
• Ministry degree with Bible major preferred; others who have demonstrated successful ministry experience will be considered.
• Proven evangelism and ministry track record. Enthusiastic desire for, and energetic approach to, personal evangelism.
• Strong faith and Bible knowledge with a commitment to the call of serving the Lord as pulpit minister and evangelist.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written as well as a demonstrated ability to lead.
• Conduct Bible studies, organize activities, communicate ideas, and use time effectively.
• Willingness and ability to teach the Scriptures in Bible classes.
• Ability to work under the oversight of the eldership.

Salary and benefit information
• Salary – Negotiable
• Housing Allowance – $2000. Per month.
• Retirement – Will match $100 per month in retirement contributions.

Role Description

Qualifications

Possess an accredited Bachelor’s degree (min of 120 credits)
Possess an accredited Theological / Divinity Master’s degree (min of 72 credits)
Obtain a federally recognized ecclesiastical endorsement from your faith group
Be physically and mentally fit (able to meet military fitness standards for HT/WT)
Pastoral Counseling, Religious Services, and Spiritual Support skills
Experience in providing emotional and mental health support
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well in a team and support diverse religious needs
Experience in a military or similar organizational setting is a plus
Understanding of military culture, values and pluralistic environment

Position Overview
The Family Minister will lead and develop ministries to engage and equip families in following
Christ and building faith. This minister is to teach the Gospel to bring new families to Christ and to
aid in spiritual growth in church families.
Responsibilities

1. Family Ministry Development
Create and implement programs and resources to support families’ spiritual development and
strengthen family bonds within the congregation.
2. Youth Ministry Leadership
Develop and oversee engaging programs, activities, and events to promote spiritual growth,
fellowship, and discipleship. Help equip fathers and mothers with the skills to assist children
in developing their own faith.
3. Community Outreach
Collaborate with the ministry staff to develop and maintain outreach initiatives to connect
with families in the wider community. Foster relationships and share Christ’s love and good
news.
4. Mentorship
Provide mentorship and leadership development opportunities to the church family,
empowering them to grow as disciples and leaders within the church and community.
Collaborate with existing ministry staff to provide management and mentorship to summer
interns.

Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in religious studies, ministry, or a related field or equivalent experience.
2. Previous experience in family and youth ministry with demonstrated ability to work in a
church environment.
3. Strong biblical knowledge with an ability to teach and communicate to multiple generations.
4. Excellent interpersonal, communication, management, and organization skills.

The Rocky Mount Church of Christ, in Rocky Mount, Virginia, is seeking a full time Preacher. The minister will be responsible for preaching on Sunday mornings, teaching bible classes as assigned, conducting personal bible studies as needed, visiting as needed, and supporting congregational activities.
