The Merced Church of Christ is seeking a minister who is sound in the faith and eager to work with a friendly and loving congregation committed to serving our Lord Jesus Christ, bringing glory to Him, and advancing His kingdom. While we would welcome a man with ministry experience, we would also consider a younger man who has recently graduated from a brotherhood preaching school or a brotherhood-affiliated university and is seeking his first ministry opportunity.
The candidate must be a faithful member of the Lord’s church, the church of Christ. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred, as we have an increasing need to minister to and teach our Spanish-speaking friends and neighbors. He should be willing to work closely with the leadership of the congregation and be interested in building a long-term relationship with a strong and growing church family.
We have a strong desire to study God’s Word and grow spiritually together. We average between five and ten visitors each week and are blessed to have several baptisms each year among those who visit our congregation. We are very evangelistically oriented.
Merced is located in the heart of California and is a growing city of approximately 98,000 residents. Our community is home to two institutions of higher education: Merced College and the University of California, Merced. We are also conveniently located within approximately two hours of the Pacific Ocean, Yosemite National Park, and Sequoia National Park.
We offer a competitive compensation package that includes a salary, a health insurance stipend, a housing stipend, paid vacation, one week for continuing education lectureships, and one week each year for gospel meeting opportunities.
