Description: The Sanford Church of Christ has existed for over 75 years. The congregation has a good mix of young and older members. It is located north of Orlando, Florida with a growing county of over 250,000 people. Other staff include a full-time Youth Minister, Part-Time Young Adult Minister and Secretary. Key characteristics that the congregation is looking for include doctrinal soundness, enthusiasm, motivation, and good communication skills.
The ideal candidate for Sanford would be a married man with preaching experience (or a new graduate from a recognized preaching school), who also takes an active role in personal evangelism. He will be balanced in approach and desiring a long-term relationship with a local work. He will be a graduate of a brotherhood preaching school or college. Will consider seasoned preachers if no degree is available. Technology skills or the willingness and ability to learn are highly desired.
– Preach Sunday morning & evening (2 Tim 4:2-5, 1 Tim 4:6-7 … 10-11)
– Teach at least one Bible class per week (1 Tim 4:11, 2 Tim 2: 24-26, Titus 2:1, 2 Tim 2:2)
– Work with the church leadership to develop and implement strategies to maximize outreach and spiritual growth of the church (Hag 2:9, Luke 19:10, Luke 14:23)
The congregation is actively engaged in the work of the Lord. Some examples include:
– Weekly food distribution for the Homeless.
– Support three foreign and three domestic mission works with a serving Deacon.
– Sponsor Leadership Luncheon, hosting ministers and elders five times a year.
– Sponsor a Back-to-School Bash to help community children with school supplies.
– Host a Summer Series annually (June-July-August).
– Host a Ladies Day annually.
– Spanish Ministry with serving Deacon.
– Active Lads-to-Leaders ministry, teaching ministry life skills to our youth with a serving Deacon.
– We had 4 baptisms in 2023 and are now engaged in mentoring activities to help these new converts grow in their faith.
– Dynamic Education Ministry with a serving Deacon.
– There are also numerous members who teach Bible classes, and several of the men are capable of preaching as well.
