Summer Preaching Internship

The preaching internship at the WindSong Church of Christ, North Little Rock, Arkansas, aims to provide a Junior or Senior college level preaching major the opportunity to continue developing and applying preaching skill. The intern would train in several aspects of ministry including:
• Preaching
• Teaching
• Pastoral care – visitation, funerals, weddings, and self/family-care
• Congregational relationship – elders, staff, various demographics of the church

In practice the intern will:
1. Develop a preaching philosophy – what is preaching, the goal of preaching, God’s vision for preaching, etc.
2. Develop a preaching methodology – How to preach effectively and soundly
3. Develop strong biblical exegetical skills and practices
4. Create a preaching plan – yearly plan
5. Create an adult education plan
6. Create class lessons for a 13-week Bible study class
7. Read and digest assigned textbooks on preaching and ministry

In application the intern will:
1. Create a 4-part sermon series that will be preached on Sunday nights (July)
2. Preach a single Sunday morning sermon (last week of internship)
3. Teach 4 Wednesday night classes (July)
4. Participate in visitation, funeral, and wedding planning
5. Attend at least one elders meeting
6. Attend weekly staff meetings

The internship will run from June-July and require the intern to be present at the office Monday-Thursday and attending worship and Bible class on Sunday and Wednesday. The intern will have the option to return home and visit family from Thursday night-Saturday night. The intern will meet for 1 hour on Monday and Wednesday with Chris Kearney to discuss reading, Bible exegesis, sermon design, and review progress in lesson development. The intern will meet for 1 hour on Tuesday and Thursday with Nick Hamilton to discuss pastoral care and participate in visitation. Further, opportunities to discuss ministry with the youth minister, children’s minister, worship minister, as well as learning from preacher wives about family life during ministry will be scheduled.

Internship duration: 9 weeks in June-July

Preaching Minister

The Ripon, California Church of Christ, located in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley, is currently seeking a preacher/minister to immediately work and serve with a congregation of a hundred plus members. The ideal candidate would have experience ministering at a congregation of the LORD’s church or be a graduate of a brotherhood college/university or preacher/missionary development school. The church is prepared to offer a reasonable compensation package, which would include salary, a parsonage, and allowances, to include health insurance. Minister- Come over to Illinois and help us

The Northside Church of Christ is located in the town of Bismarck in east central Illinois, near the IL/IN border. Bismarck offers small town living, with city conveniences ten minutes away in Danville. For more than the basics, Champaign-Urbana (University of Illinois, less than an hour) and Chicago (less than three hours) offer a wide variety of activities and opportunities for your interests. The Northside congregation has had a presence in Bismarck for over 125 years, is lead by two elders, and is biblically sound in its teaching and practices. We are financially stable and able to support a minister (approximately $50,000) as well as needs in the community, mission efforts, and Schultz-Lewis Children’s Home. In addition, we air a radio program in Danville and participate in House to House Heart to Heart mailings in Bismarck and the surrounding area. Though small in size (20-25), we have a desire to continue in our long time work of worship, Bible teaching and serving others.

Duties for the successful candidate include Bible preaching and teaching, church family support and community engagement. Further details will be discussed with the elders at the time of interview. Primary Responsibilities
Deliver an engaging, Bible-centered sermon every Sunday morning

Partner with elders and members in visitation, counseling, and discipleship
Work alongside a full-time administrative assistant to keep the ministry running smoothly

Mission
The mission is to help develop a genuine, personal faith in our teens. To make disciples who are making disciples.

Teenagers should be spiritually equipped and prepared for life after high school—when they leave home and enter college or the workplace. They should be led to respect and apply biblical scripture as their guide through this life and the life to come.

Discipleship
Discipleship is a key part of the work in Van Alstyne. We believe our youth ministry should be focused on creating opportunities for our teens to become disciples. It is important for them to be show how to follow Jesus through teaching and example. There should be a focus on equipping students to reach and encourage their friends to follow Christ.

Ministry
This ministry leads our youth in grades seven through twelve through personal experiences with Bible-based application. The youth minister partners with parents and church leaders to facilitate spiritual development in our youth. This ministry should support healthy relationships with peers, parents, and other Christians of all ages and circumstances.

Full-Time Preacher Needed
We are prayerfully seeking a full-time preacher to work with us at the church of Christ in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Candidates should have strong communication skills, be self-motivated, uphold biblical authority, and have a sincere love for the brethren and the spreading of the gospel. Responsibilities include weekly sermons, teaching adult Bible classes, and developing outreach strategies. Our congregation is small body of believers, but our numbers fluctuate between 15 and 50 due to tourism.

Evangelist sought for Torch Hill Road Church of Christ, Columbus, GA, near Fort Benning. The ideal fit would be a brother bringing full or partial support, possibly a combination of outside work or supplemental pension. The congregation provides a beautiful 4 bedroom, 2 full bathroom brick ranch house, and all utilities. Expectations would be teaching 1 class per week, editing bulletin, speaking twice on Sun, keeping hours twice a week at the building for personal work, counseling, etc. The ability to converse in Spanish is admired, but not required.
